AISSMS SSPM Primary Day School celebrated the twin occasions of Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm on October 1, 2025. The school campus was adorned with a beautifully decorated board highlighting the essence of both festivals.
The students, vibrantly dressed, gathered on the assembly ground to witness the celebration. The program began with the Headmistress garlanding the idol of Goddess Saraswati and the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, paying homage to the two great symbols of wisdom and truth.
Students delivered inspiring speeches, shedding light on the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi and the significance of Dussehra in Indian culture. The Headmistress in her address further emphasized Gandhiji’s values of truth and non-violence while also highlighting the message of Dussehra – the victory of good over evil.
The celebration continued with vibrant Garba and Dandiya performances by the students, which filled the atmosphere with festive joy. Teachers too joined in the traditional dance, making the event even more lively and engaging. A special highlight of the program was a solo dance performance by Janhavi from Std IV, which received great applause from the audience.
The celebration concluded on a symbolic note as the effigy of Ravana was burnt by the Headmistress, signifying the triumph of righteousness and the restoration of peace and happiness.
The event left the students with a deeper understanding of India’s cultural values and the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, while also filling their hearts with festive spirit.
