Evaluation

Muffat says – “Evaluation is a continuous process and is concerned with than the formal academic achievement of pupils. It is interpreted in the development of the individual in terms of desirable behavioral change relation of his feeling, thinking, and actions”.

Evaluation is a very important  integral part of the education system. One cannot education without evaluation But the education system was exam oriented and thus was lot of fear associated with education. There was less of education and more emphasis was on rote learning and children were under lot of pressure as parents and teachers emphasized more on marks and results.

Thus evaluation can affect the whole educational process and system. Good methods of evaluation can channelize , speed up and inspire the education process. The examination pattern has been changed from time to time but the alterations were insufficient and inadequate for making the all-round development of students of students possible . A system was required to touch al aspects of students life in a lighter and unnoticeable manner- where students enjoyed and there was a long lasting learning – the true essence of education.

That is why Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation came into effect as the GR No. 201008201913480.

  1. The School follows the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern of Evaluation where in grades are assigned to each subject.

WHAT IS CCE?

Continuous means throughout the year continuous and comprehensive including all elements or aspects are taken into consideration of evaluation.

Thus in the CCE pattern various tools are taken into consideration for evaluating a child’s progress.

  1. Under the CCE, the evaluation is divided in two parts – the Formative evaluation and the Summative evaluation.
  2. In Formative evaluation, marks are assigned to various projects, activities, class test.
  3. In Summative evaluation, written tests per subject are conducted at the end of the first term and second term. Grades are assigned to each subject after taking into account the sum of Formative evaluation and Summative evaluation for each Term.
