The vibrant festival of “Palkhi Aagman” was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SSPM Primary Day School on 23rd June 2025. The entire school environment was filled with joy and devotion as students, dressed in traditional attire reminiscent of the varkaries, actively participated in the festivities.
The school entrance was adorned with beautiful board decorations, while an intricate rangoli design at the office entrance set the perfect tone for the celebration. These thoughtful decorations created an inviting and festive atmosphere for everyone present.
A special attraction of the event was the presence of students dressed as Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini, captivating the audience with their charming portrayal. The palanquins of revered saints, Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram, were beautifully decorated and became the focal point of the procession.
The traditional Dindi, or procession of devotees, was a lively sight as students enthusiastically danced with cymbals and waved orange flags. The Headmistress performed a ritual worship of the palanquin, adding a spiritual touch to the occasion.
The Dindi procession was warmly welcomed by the Institute Of Information Technology (IOIT). As a gesture of goodwill, IOIT distributed sweets and traditional white caps to the students, further enhancing the festive spirit.
By organizing this celebration, SSPM Primary Day School provided students with an enriching experience, helping them connect with and appreciate the rich culture and traditions of Maharashtra.
In summary, the “Palkhi Aagman” celebration at SSPM Primary Day School was a grand success, fostering cultural awareness and unity among students and staff.
