Palkhi Celebration at AISSMS SSPM Primary Day School
AISSMS SSPM Primary Day School celebrated the traditional Palkhi Utsav with great devotion and enthusiasm on 17th July 2026. The celebration began on an auspicious note with students beautifully dressed as Lord Vitthal, Goddess Rakhumai, revered saints, and Warkaris. Some girls wore traditional nine-yard sarees and gracefully carried holy basil (Tulsi) plants, adding to the spiritual ambience of the event.
The highlight of the celebration was the traditional Dindi procession. After the Headmistress offered prayers to Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rakhumai, the atmosphere came alive with the joyful chants of “Mauli! Mauli!”, filling everyone with devotion and positivity.
The beautifully decorated Palkhi received a warm welcome from the staff of AISSMS IOIT (Institute of Information Technology). Sweets were distributed among the students, making the occasion even more delightful. The students enthusiastically performed the traditional ‘Ringan’, dancing rhythmically to the beats of the cymbals, while the girls joyfully played ‘Fugadi’, showcasing Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage.
The Palkhi celebration provided students with a meaningful experience of Maharashtra’s cherished traditions and helped instil cultural values, devotion, unity, and respect for our rich heritage.
