Shiv Jayanti celebration at AISSMS SSPM Nursery and Primary Day School
The celebration of Shiv Jayanti at AISSMS SSPM Nursery and Primary Day School was conducted with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The entire school premises were beautifully decorated with vibrant orange streamers, creating a festive and energetic atmosphere. The decorations were thoughtfully aligned with the theme of the program, featuring the idol of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mavalas cutouts, the royal seal, and other historical elements that reflected the grandeur of the Maratha era. A colourful and artistic rangoli further enhanced the beauty of the venue.
The program began with the Honorable Headmistress garlanding the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, paying tribute to the great warrior king. Students then staged a heart-touching enactment of the naming ceremony of Shivaji Maharaj by portraying Jijabai, accompanied by traditional songs sung around the cradle, which captivated the audience.
The celebration continued with energetic performances where students showcased their talents in various martial arts such as Lathi-Kathi, sword fighting, and Dandpatta, reflecting the bravery and valor associated with the Maratha warriors. Students also presented vibrant dance performances dressed as Mavalas, adding color and enthusiasm to the event. Students of Standard IV delivered meaningful speeches highlighting the life, achievements, and ideals of Shivaji Maharaj. They also presented a traditional powada, passionately singing praises of the great king and filling the atmosphere with pride and inspiration.
The program concluded on a patriotic note with the Headmistress leading powerful slogans of “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Ki Jay” and “Jay Shivaji, Jay Bhawani,” which echoed across the premises and left everyone filled with admiration and respect for the legendary hero.
